Form, Emptiness, Emptiness, Form is an extended piano album that explores sonic contemplations on various subjective textures of being.

What is the sound of contemplating emptiness? What is the sound of contemplating form? Can one blend these contemplations? When does form becom emptiness and emptiness, form? In these recordings I present my findings.

While some pieces, such as Bya Gtor, dwell deeply in "emptiness", exploring long durations and subtle textures, others exist in "form" and play with multifaceted rhythmic structures. Some of the pieces interweave these dimensions of experience and exist as a "coincidentia oppositorum", an interbeing of apparent opposites. For a brief moment, form and emptiness are heard, known and experienced as one.

For this album, the piano is prepared nearly all of the time. Objects were inserted between the strings, various percussion instruments were placed inside the instrument, and some non traditional manners of producing sound were utilized, such as stimulating wooded dowels between the strings with rosined finger tips, bowing singing bowls placed on the frame of the piano, or utilizing an array of e-bows to stimulate multiple piano strings at once.

This was a deeply enjoyable album to create. I hope you find some sincere sonic nourishment in this music. Thank you very much for listening.
